Vera Lucille Christensen, age 64, of New London, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, June 14, 1995 at the university of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

The daughter of Merritt and Lela Tisor Marshall, she was born November 26, 1930 at Wapello. She married Dean Christensen on July 4, 1948 at Burlington.

She was a homemaker, a member of the VFW Auxiliary of New London and enjoyed crafts, the farm animals and poetry as an author.

Survivors include her husband, Dean; a daughter, Joyce Ahern of Enfield, Connecticut; two sons, Randy Christensen of Mt. Pleasant and Kevin Christensen of Burlington; five grandchildren; one great grandson; and three brothers, Marvin Marshall of West Burlington, Clarence Marshall of Mediapolis, and Larry Marshall of Wapello. She was prededed in death by her parents and a daughter Vickie.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 1995 at the Dudgeon McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, with Rev. Reinhold F. Dierks officiating. Burial of the cremains followed at the Wapello Cemetery.
