Funeral service for 92 year old Sylvia Elizabeth Orris of Columbus City, Iowa was held on Wednesday, October 18, 1995 at 1:30 p.m. at the Columbus City Free Methodist Church, under the direction of the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction, Iowa. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation was held on Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Orris died Saturday, October 14, 1995 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home.

Sylvia Elizabeth Skipton was born July 12, 1903 in Fredonia, Iowa to Harvey and Edith Boulton Skipton. She married William Humphrey who preceded her in death. Sylvia married Dale Orris in 1946 and he also preceded her in death. Sylvia had been a homemaker all her life. She was a member of the Columbus City Free Methodist Church and a member of the Upper room Bible Study Group.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Don (Maurine) Weaver, Burlington, Iowa. There are 3 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Cecil Skipton, Columbus City, Iowa.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, husbands William and Dale, a son Robert Humphrey, a grandson Steven, two brothers Frank and Roy Skipton.
