Rosena Mae Butler, age 79, Morning Sun, died Friday, May 13, 1994 at her home in Morning Sun.

The daughter of August and Bessie King Eiler, she was born October 10, 1914 at Red Oak, Iowa.

On May 29, 1958 she married Ward Butler at Morning Sun; he preceded her in death. She was a 1932 graduate of the Red Oak High School; was a 1935 graduate of St. Catherine's Hospital School of Nursing at Greighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a member of the Morning Sun United Methodist Church; she was secretary for the U.M.W.; the Morning Sun Lioness Club; and the Morning Sun 4th of July Commitee; she was also a member of the Tuesday morning prayer group and Sorosis Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Sally Porter, Danville, Iowa; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 17, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun, with Rev. Chris Ebbers offficiating. Interment of her cremains was in the Elmwood Cemetery. A general memorial has been established.

Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun, was in charge of the arrangements.
