Rolland L. "Bones" Griffin, 65, of Abilene, VA., died Saturday, May 4, 1996 at his home.

Born Dec. 15, 1930 in Milford, he was the son of Paul C. and Clara Mueller Griffin. He married Linda Vanover of Abilene, VA.

He grew up in Morning Sun and Wapello and was a disabled veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, C. Kay Griffin of Bronson, Kan.; three brothers, Elwood of Burlington, Crotty of Wapello and Tom of Everly; two sisters, Jeanne Boulton of Iuka, Miss., and Audrey Whitaker of Wapello; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

The funeral for Mr. Griffin was held May 7 at Douglas Presbyterian Church in Abilene, VA, with the Rev. George Walker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, VA, was in charge of arrangements.
