Funeral services for Margaret Colton, age 80, Washington, were held on Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ainsworth Community Church, Ainsworth. Visitation was held on Tuesday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Margaret Died on Sunday in Washington. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Burial was in the Columbus city Cemetery.

Mary Margaret McMath was born September 26, 1915 in Clearfield, IA to Elvin and Myra Griffis McMath. She married Merle Colton March 23, 1940 in Iowa City. He preceded her in death July 9, 1979. Margaret taught Country School in Taylor and Washington Counties until her marriage. Margaret was a member of the Ainsworth Community Church and past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Margaret is survived by her children, Dennis and wife Maureen, Okoboji, Ia; Tracy Colton, Chicago, Il; Dr. Clifton (Mrs. Leanne) Adams, Tucson, formally of Iowa City, Ia and Dean Colton, Solon, Ia. There are four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Stevenson, Clearfield, Ia, and Mrs. Myrtha Nelson, Winfield, Ia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Randy, and an infant sister.
