J. Audrey Ball, age 90, of Morning Sun, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, October 20, 1995 at the Morning Sun Care Center. The daughter of B. Elmer and F. Louisa Presbury Thompson, she was born December 16, 1904 at Grandview, Iowa. she married Ralph Ball on December 5, 1927 at Wapello. He died July 25, 1988.

Audrey was a graduate of Wapello High School and then taught in rural Louisa County schools near Port Louisa. As a homemaker she and her husband farmed for many years in Louisa County.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and UMW of Wapello, and the Oakland Social Club.

Survivors include three sons, Laurence Ball of Cincinnati, Iowa, John Elmer Ball of Mediapolis, and Jerry Ball of Morning Sun; thirteen grandchildren; and thirty-one great-grandchildren. She was prededed in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; two sisters, Lula and McKinley; and two brothers, Rodney and Merle.

The funeral service for Audrey Ball was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 1995 at the United Methodist Church in Wapello with Rev. John Ling officiating. Bev Parsons was the organist. The casket bearers were Dana Ball, Keith Ball, Chris Ball, Mike Ball, Glen Ball, Ray Ball, and Jim Ball. Honorary bearers were Chuck Everett, Jeff Jerome, Dennis Helleur, Kent Anderson, and Rick Simmons. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery.

The family met friends Sunday evening at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Children's Sunday School of the Wapello United Methodist Church.
