Helen Ethel Griffin, age 84, of Wapello and more recently of Elm View Care Center of Burlington, died Tuesday, July 9, 1996 at the Burlington Medical Center.

She was born August 3, 1911. she had married Clyde Schenk and later married Paul Griffin on June 17, 1957 at Burlington. He died September 3, 1974.

She was a homemaker and had worked at the Ordnance Plant at Burlington for several years. Helen enjoyed her cats and flowers, and fishing.

She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Walker of Muscatine; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and ten step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Dean; two grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters.

A graveside service for Helen Griffin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 1996 at the Wapello Cemetery with Rev. Dave Bergevin officiating. Casket bearers will include Mike Hall, Bob Haller, Jim Harden, Steve McCrabb, Dean Walker, and Marvin Walker. There will be no visitation.

Dudgeon-McCulley funeral Home, Wapello, is providing the care and arrangements for Helen Griffin.
