Mrs. Harriet Marie Maddux, age 80 years and 10 months, died at the Burlington Medical Center June 1, 1987.

She was born August 4, 1906 near Wapello, the daughter of Sidney and Adah Stephens Isett. She married Arthur Maddux November 27, 1939 in South Sioux, Nebraska.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs.(William) Patsy Fulton of Columbus Junction, Mrs. (Robert) Barbara Griffith of Sigourney, Iowa, Mrs, (Jack) Grace Skelly, Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, Marvin Swafford of Calumet City, Illinois; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. (Lyle) Wilma Bickford, Wapello; 2 brothers, Gene Isett, Wapello, and Ewing Isett, Clearwater, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Max Swafford, and a brother, Joe Isett.

She was a 1925 graduate of the Wapello High School, and was a member of the Midway Circle, Oakland Club, and the Honeycreek Homemakers.

Memorials may be made to the Heart Association.

Visitation was held Tuesday evening at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Dick Clark officiated, Burial was in Bethel Cemetery.
