Betty Lucille Blake, 64, of Mediapolis, died Sunday, May 29, 1994, at the Community Care Center at Mediapolis.

Born September 27, 1929, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John and Amelia Miller Scherer. On January 30, 1953, she married Boyd Blake in Iowa City. He died April 16, 1991.

Mrs. Blake was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Burlington High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Wendel Blake of Douglas, Wyoming; two daughters, Marla Brenner of Lexington, Kentucky, and Rhonda Blake of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Clyde Scherer of Burlington; four sisters, Agnes Peterson and Mabel Simmons, both of New London; Bernice Miller of Burlington, and Ruth Icenogel of Effingham, Illinois.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

The funeral for Mrs. Blake was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis with Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Burial was in Kossuth Cemetery.

A general memorial has been established.
