Anthony Wykert Knight, 65, a 12-year resident of Morning Sun Manor died Monday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Iowa City.

Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Wigend officiating. Burial will be in the Long Creek Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Morning Sun Manor.

Mr. Knight was born March 26, 1920, in Wapello, a son of Albert and Minnie Wykert Knight. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Wapello VFW. He had been a carpenter by trade.

Survivors include two sons, Anthony "Twig" Knight, Wapello; and Dean Knight, Fox River Grove, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Karen) Delzell, Morning Sun; and Mrs. Bill (Jimmie Jo) Syphrit, Wapello; 13 grandchildren; five sisters, Frances Hawk and Josephine Montagna, both of California; Irene Brotherburger, Independence; Margaret Tharp, Grandview; and Iris Wonders, Wapello.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
