Mrs. Rosanna Winkleman Hascher was born in Lincoln county, Ohio, May 25, 1844, and departed this life Dec. 12, 1914. She was aged 70 years, 6 months and 17 days. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1850. In 1864 she was united in marriage to Jacob Hascher. To this union six children were born, two of which died in infancy. The four surviving children are: Mr. Frank Hascher and Mrs. George Townsend of Muscatine, and John and Lizzie remaining at home.

Mrs. Hascher leaves six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Her husband's death occurred Aug. 5th, 1884, thirty years ago. She united with the Congregational church when she was but 15 years old and has continued in church fellowship since that time. She showed a kind and neighborly disposition in her daily life as opportunity afforded. For the past three years her health was poor so that she was unable to attend church, but she always welcomed the visits and religious council and fellowship of her pastor. For the past three months her health gradually failed until the end came Saturday at noon. Her religious experience was very clear and confident. Her home children were very attentive and dutiful in their attendance upon their mother during her sickness and have the sympathy of many friends.

The funeral service was held at the Congregational church Monday at 2 p.m., the pastor, Rev. Washington, giving a comforting and inspiring message. Interment was made in the Grandview cemetery.
