The residents of this community were greatly shocked Tuesday aternoon when the sad news of the death of Mrs. Elmer Casten was reported. Mrs. Casten had been ill over a week, but no one apparently knew that she was so dangerously ill and when the news of her death became known many
Wapello people were grieved. Mrs. Casten was a good woman, a good wife and mother and had many friends in this place who will feel her loss. The community extends sympathy and condolence to the sorrowing husband, who has been deprived of two of his loved ones in eight days.

Lela Morse Bolon Casten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Bolon, was born Feb. 8, 1890, in Warren county, Ill. and passed away at her home here Tuesday, March 30th, aged 25 years, 1 month and 22 days.

In 1909 the family all moved to a farm near Morning Sun, where on Sept. 30, 1909, she was united in marriage to J.E. Casten and to this union were born three daughters, Helen Adeline, Margery Louise and Claudine. The last little one was born one week ago last Saturday, full of promise and life, but on Monday it had returned to the God who gave it. The shock of losing the little one coupled with other compications proved too much and in full faith of meeting her little one she quietly fell asleep Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.

She was the third one of a family of five children, four of whom remain. Mrs. Mina Lowe, Mrs. Emma Cornick, Miss Mary Bolon, all of Marsh, and Leslie Bolon, all of Marsh, and Leslie Bolon, of Wapello. These with the father and mother, the heart broken husband and the two little daughters aged four and two years, and a host of friends remain to mourn her demise.

There were five children in the family and Lela was the first called. There were ten grandchildren and Claudine was the first to go.

The funeral services were held at the home at 10:30 o'clock this morning, conducted by Rev. A.W. McBlain and the body was laid to rest beside little Claudine in the Wapello cemetery.
