Shortly after 8 o'clock this morning at the family residence, three miles northwest of Letts, Ia., occurred the death of Mrs. R.H. Griffin, a well known woman, who during her life enjoyed the highest respect and esteem of a large acquaintanceship. Her death ws due to a complication of ills and followed an illness of several months' duration. Her condition had been serious for some time and her death was not unexpected. She was thirty-four years of age.

Rebecca Cochran was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Cochran and was born in Lake township, Muscatine county. Fraternally she was affiliated with the Rebekah lodge at Letts, Ia.
