JOHN WALSINGER

Wapello – John Wesley Walsinger, 69, a resident of Wapello, died here Wednesday.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home. The Rev. Gordon Watson will officiate. Burial will be in the Wapello Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home for the Wapello Rescue Unit.

The son of Henry and Rhoda James Walsinger, he was born Oct. 28, 1913, in Louisa County.

His marriage to Mary Schultz took place Jan. 2, 1941, in Davenport. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Walsinger had worked as a truck driver and for many years was employed by the Louisa County Road Maintenance Crew.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Garland and Elsie Hussel, both of Wapello; three granddaughters; and one brother, Walter of Moline.

Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
