Louisa Sheriff Declines Comment of Death of Boy

Wapello – a 7-year-old Wapello boy was killed when he apparently fell off the riding lawnmower he was operating and was run over by the machine.

Jason Lee Yotter, son of Edward and Peggy Yotter, was pronounced dead on arrival about 8:30 p.m. Monday at Burlington Medical Center.

Officials at the Louisa County Sheriff’s office say they have no further information on the incident.

According to an Associated Press story, however, the boy’s father was mowing the lawn, but let Jason take over about 7:30 p.m. Yotter then went to another portion of the yard.

He returned about 30 minutes later and found Jason under the lawnmower, according to the story.

There were no witnesses to the accident.
