Cindi Lou Podaril, 44, of Blue Grass, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction with the Rev. David Stoufer officiating. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established for the Genesis Nursing Education Fund.

She was born July 26, 1958, in Muscatine, to James L. and Betty L. Yoder Podaril.

She was a nurse at Genesis Medical Center since 1981 and was a member of the State Nursing Association. She earned her masters degree in nursing in Dekalb, Ill., and was a clinical nurse specialist for eight years and also taught EKG classes at Genesis West where she had been employed for 22 years.

Mrs. Podaril enjoyed sports car pylon racing in her 1972 Corvette and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her mother; one brother, Jerry Podaril and wife Pam of Ainsworth; special friend Barry Packer of Blue Grass; her uncle, Bill Podaril and wife Zola of Columbus Junction; and her aunt Ila Hartsock of Winfield.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1976; maternal grandparents, Fred and Phoeboe Yoder; paternal grandparents, Lula and Joseph Podaril; and Aunt Bessie Hartsock and aunt, Celia Podaril.
