WILBUR C. PATTERSON

Wilbur C. Patterson, 72, 406 Evans St., died early this morning at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. LaVern Hubbard of the Fruitland Baptist Church will officiate. Organist is Mrs. Richard Dilts. Pallbearers will be represented by grandchildren, Ronnie Goodrick, Marvin Smith, Steve Fifield, Jim Deveney, Phillip John Patterson and Chad Patterson. Burial will be in the Harrison Cemetery, Wapello.

Visitation is Thursday from 3-9 p.m. and prior to the time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Patterson was born Jan. 6, 1913 at Wapello, a son of Charles and Jane Crieger Patterson. A former resident of Wapello, he had lived here for 45 years. He married Florence Ellis, Nov. 21, 1935, at Aledo. He retired from Oscar Mayer as a machinist.

He is survived by his wife; five sons, Jack Patterson and Phillip Patterson, both of Muscatine; Charles Patterson, Atalissa; Ronald Patterson, Davenport and Eldon Patterson, Wapello; five daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Donna) Smith, Hillsdale, Ill.; Mrs. Donald (Charlotte) Fifield, Mrs. James (Patsy) Wellons and Mrs. James (Karen) Diveny, all of Muscatine; and Connie Yoke, Davenport; one brother, Loyde Patterson, Revere, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. O.W. (Hazel) McKnight, Joplin, Mo.; Amy Hill, Wilton; Mrs. Art (Florence) Conrad, East Moline; 31 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
