Robert Marshall McConahay, age 67, of Wapello, Iowa, died Saturday evening, January 8, 1994 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

The son of A.R.'Pete' and Blanche Catherine Marshall McConahay, he was born September 17, 1926 at Cairo, Iowa. He married Jacqueline McKinney at Wapello on March 5, 1949. He had served in the US Navy during WW-II. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Glenn Allen Post 5166 of Wapello, and the Izaac Walton League of America.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline; two sons, Mike McConahay of Allerton, Iowa and Dan McConahay of Wapello; five grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Perkins of Morning Sun, Charlotte Schroeder of Oceanside, California, Phyllis McKinney and Marjorie Schneider, both of Wapello; and three brothers, Wayne McConahay of Wapello, Keith McConahay of West Burlington, and Larry McConahay of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service for Robert McConahay was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 1994 at Dodgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Young officiating. Bev Parsons provided the organ music. The casket bearers were Bill Paris, Marvin Walker, Les Fisher, Bob Pogemiller, Jim Pogemiller and Danny Yakle. The honorary bearers included Harold Small, Harry Crammond, Jack Parsons, Bob Walker and Eugene Hafner. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery.

The family met with friends Tuesday evening at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established.
