MILDRED PATRICK
Burlington, Iowa – Services for Mildred M. Patrick, 73, formerly of Wapello, will be 11 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Wapello. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery.

Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. An Order of Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Patrick died Thursday at Burlington Medical Center.

Mildred Madsen married Joseph Patrick in 1933 in Crown Point, Ind. He died in 1980.

She and husband founded Patrick’s Homecrest Store, Wapello. She also owned and operated the Fair Store, Wapello. The couple also opened the first coin laundromat in Wapello.

She was a member of the church; United Methodist Women; and Chapter 257, OES, Wapello.

She was active in the Republican Party.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Mrs. James) Engberg, Burlington; sons, Joseph R., Wapello, and Thomas, La Crosse, Wis.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ann Oenes, Ogden, Utah; May Dieu, Cape Coral, Fla.; Alice Whitlock, Kenosha, Wis.; and Grace Mitchell, Livonia, Mich.
