MARIE SCALES

Marie Scales, age 94, 120 N. 13th St., Albia, IA, died Oct. 1, 1995 at the Monroe Care Center, Albia.

Born Feb. 13, 1901 at Corydon she was a daughter of Otto and Rhoda Wolfiner Sharp. She married Frank Scales Aug. 18, 1920. He died in 1982.

Frank and Marie farmed at Morning Sun from 1936-1975 when they moved to Burlington. She moved to Albia in 1984. She was a 59 year member of the United Methodist Church, Morning Sun.

Survivors include a son, E.H. Scales, Albia; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Theda L. Ashley, two sister and one brother.
The Graveside Service is at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 at Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun. Rev. Chris Ebbers officiating.

A Memorial has been established to the Morning Sun Uited Methodist Church.

Gilbert-Nordstom Funeral Homes, Inc., were in charge of the arrangements.
