SUSAN D. WARTH

Susan Diane Warth, age 52, 23127 160th Ave., Mediapolis, died Tuesday, August 8, 1995, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant. The daughter of James Earlene and Naomi (Spivey) Reed, she was born September 4, 1942, at Rosiclare, Illinois. On November 27, 1960, she married Gary Warth at Mediapolis. She attended Rosiclare schools and was a graduate of Mediapolis High School, class of 1960. She was a graduate of the Burlington Beauty Academy, and had been employed as a cosmetologist at Dorothy Ann’s Hair Designers in Burlington. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at Bethesda Care Center in Mediapolis and at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant. She had been an assistant leader in 4-H in past years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elizabethtown, Illinois.

Survivors include her husband, Gary of Mediapolis; two daughters, Amy (Fred) Rieckens of Iowa City, and Natalie Warth at home; three sons, Kevin of Iowa City, Shawn of Mediapolis, and Mark of Morning Sun; one grandson, Thomas; her mother, Naomi (Alfred) Masten of Elizabethtown, Illinois; one brother, Larry Reed of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and her stepmother, Evelyn Reed of Phoenix, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Luann.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 11, 1995, at 10:30 a.m. from the Mediapolis First United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Gaulke and Rev. Christ Ebbers officiating. Interment followed in the Kossuth Cemtery, Mediapolis, Iowa.

The family met with friends Thursday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis. Music was provided by Junellen Chiprez, organist, and Korkee Carruthers, vocalist. A poem written by Natalie Warth was read by Kathrine Kellogg. Casket bearers were John Sheridan, Bob Reiches, Chuck Simmons, Bob Moehle, Lloyd Heitmeier, and Gary Burden.

A general memorial has been established.
