Mrs. Eben Davis Called By Death

Mrs. Eben Davis of Crawfordville, died-Sunday morning, March 24,1963, in Mercy hospital at Iowa City. She had been ill for six weeks.

The funeral was Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the United Presbyterian Church at Crawfordsville, with the Rev. Robert Rushing in charge. Burial in Cambrian Cemetery.

Laura Jane Owens was born September 3, 1880 in Van Wert County, Ohio, a daughter of Evan J. and Elizabeth Jones Owens and was aged 82 years, 6 months and 21 days. She was reared in Louisa County, Iowa and married December 18, 1902 to Eben G. Davis. He died August 8, 1962.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis moved to Crawfordsville in 1921 when they retired from farming. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church at Crawfordsville and the last of her family.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Joe H. Johnston and Mrs. Clair Holes of Crawfordsville: five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
