MORNING SUN - Roy William (Bill) Watson Jr., 44, of 712 Marquette, Muscatine, died in University Hospitals, Iowa City, Wednesday, Nov. 9, after a long illness.

A native of Morning Sun, he was born May 1, 1939, to Roy William Watson Sr. and Lois Swan Watson. He served in the Navy from 1958 to 1962.

Mr. Watson had retired as boiler superintendent at H.J. Heinz Co. He married Joan Patton May 23, 1965, at Wever.

Surviving: The wife; son and daughter Christopher and Tracey Watson, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy William Watson Sr., Morning Sun; and brother David Watson, Morning Sun.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairbanks-Lamb Chapel, Muscatine, the Rev. William Keller; Elmwood Cemetery. A memorial to Ducks Unlimited has been established.
