Freda I. Willson, 81, of Morning Sun, died Monday, March 9, at her home.

Born Sept. 24, 1905, at Newport, she was the daughter of Tom and Cora Cosgrove Beard. She married Morris Willson Feb. 6, 1930, at Agency. He died earlier.

She was a 1927 graduate of Cook College and was a mathematics instructor in several schools including Yarmouth and Morning Sun. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Morning Sun, serving as an elder and an associate treasurer for many years.

Surviving are one son, Laird Willson of Orinda, Calif.; one daughter, Mary Beth Hoke of Newton; three sisters, Hallie Matson of Mesa, Ariz., Opal Nichols, Wilma Bryant, and Jean Griffin, all of Morning Sun; eight grandchidren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pierce Funeral Home, Morning Sun.

Services for Mrs. Willson will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the First United Presbyterian church, Morning Sun, with the Rev. Diane Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
