Allen Murray Died Saturday

Allen Murray, retired farmer, who resided in Louisa county for the past 13 years, died at the home of his son, Sam Murray at Columbus Junction at 11:30 p.m. Saturday. He came to this community from Hubble, Nebraska.

Funeral rites were conducted at the Jamison-Dudgeon Funeral home in Wapello at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, in charge of the Rev. Caleb Larson of the Grandview Community church. Burial was in the Wapello cemetery with six nephews serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Murray, the son of Robert and Jane Eakman Murray, was born in Woodford county, Illinois, April 14, 1955. His wife, the former, Barbara Carpenter and one son, Irvin, preceded him in death.

Surviving are three children, Robert A. of Coalinga, California; Charles A. and Samuel D., both of Columbus Junction; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Fosdick and Mrs. Lucy Wilcox and one-half sister, Mrs Sadie Cullen, all of Flannigan, Illinois, and eight granchildren and three great grandchildren.

Note: the birthdate of Mr. Murray was given as April 14, 1955. This writer believes it should be 1855.
