WAPELLO - Goldie Josephine Maine, 78, died Wednesday at the Burlington Medical Center.

Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Rev. William Moon officiating. Organist is Kathleen Hagele. Sons of Mrs. Maine are pallbearers. Flower attendants are Lynette Maine, Lori Maine and Marianne Giese. Burial will be in the Wapello Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Maine was born Jan. 6, 1908 in Burlington, a daughter of William and Julia Spaulding Herrick. Her marriage to Earl Maine took place May 2, 1925 in Rock Island. He died Nov. 8, 1963. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include six sons, Robert Maine, Osceola, Mo.; Richard "Don" Maine, West Palm Beach, Fla.; Edward "Gary" Maine, Bettendorf; James Maine, Leonard Maine and Joe Maine, all of Wapello; three daughters, Beverly Speer, Davenport, Patricia Petersen, Bettendorf; and Sally Hoffer, West Burlington; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Herrick, Bettendorf.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.
