On Wednesday a.m. at 2:40 o'clock, at her home in Grandview, Iowa, occurred the death of Mrs. Mary Tharp. She was formerly Miss Mary Frazee and was born in Licking county, Ohio, May 6, 1835, thus being at her death 72 years, 3 months and 8 days of age.

In the year 1851 she came with her parents to Burlington, Ia., where she had lived for some time. On Feb. 21, 1852, she was married to Andrew Campbell, who died in the spring of 1859. The them were born three children, who are still living, and are George, John and Mrs. Jane Sabin, all of Grandview.

In 1865 she was again married to Jas. Tharp, who preceeded her to the better world in February, 1906.

When a young woman she united with the Methodist church and later she joined the Plymouth Brethren. She was a kind hearted and sincere woman, a loving mother, always devoted to her home and children and loved by all her friends and those who came in contact with her.

Her death came as quite a shock to the family, as she suffered a paralytic stroke a short time before. Although suffering a great deal she bore it all with great fortitude.

She leaves besides the three first named children four others: Mrs. Ida M. Dowell, of Muscatine, Ia.; Mrs. Ada Crow, of Fonda, Ia.' Mrs. Jas. Graham, of near Wapello, and one son, Lee, of Grandview. She also leaves one brother, Joseph Frazee, of Grandview. Interment at Grandview cemetery.
