Corinne Eleanor Fullerton, 87, of New London, died Sunday, November 18, 2007, at the New London Nursing and Rehab in New London, Iowa.

Funeral services for Corinne will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. at the Elliott Chapel in New London, Iowa. Mr. Dan Dingua will officiate. Burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery, in Columbus City, Iowa. Following interment, the Shellbark Club will host a gathering of family and friends at the Masonic Lodge in Columbus City. A memorial has been established for the “On The Right Track” fundraiser for the all weather track for New London Community Schools in Corinne’s name.

Corinne Peters was born December 1, 1919, in Columbus Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Julia Baker Peters. She attended grade school in Shellbark School District, and graduated from Columbus Junction High School in 1937. On October 4, 1941, Corinne was united in marriage to LaVon “Sam” Fullerton in Kahoka, MO, later divorced. Corinne was a farm wife in her early years, and then a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal service in New London. She was the first female letter carrier in the state of Iowa. She was a member of the New London Presbyterian Church. Corinne was the #1 wrestling Booster fan, known as Grandma Corinne to everyone. She was very involved with her grandchildren’s school activities. She was a member of the Shellbark Neighborhood Club. Corinne enjoyed hearing her family sing. She was an honorary grandparent to many grade school kids.

Corinne will be dearly missed by her children, E. Richard “Dick” (Anna) Fullerton, and Julia Kelly, both of New London, Iowa, and Tom (Diane) Fullerton of Westminster, CO. She had 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Corinne was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Roger Peters; and one son-in-law, Mike Kelly.
