Mary Christie Wilson was born in Jefferson county, Ohio, September 14, 1845, and died at Muscatine, Iowa, January 8, 1913, having reached the age of 67 years, 3 months and 25 days. Early in life she removed to Grandview, Ia., where she spent the greater part of her life.

She was united in marriage December 9, 1863, and leaves to mourn her death her husband, Joseph S. Wilson; six sons, John, Bunyon, Joseph, Everett, Oliver and Elmer; two daughters, Mrs. William Burkhard and Mrs. Mert Gatton; one sister, Mrs. Samuel McDonald; one brother Thomas B. Christie, and eight grandchildren.

A firm believer in Christianity, a kind and loving mother, and ever ready with a word of encouragement for those afflicted with the cares of life, her passing leaves a vacant place in the home and among her friends that can never be filled.

The funeral service took place on January 11th, at the Evangelical church in Grandview. The services were conducted by Rev. Hamill. Interment was made in the Grandview cemetery, Edward Latta, Joseph Dottor, I. Gipple, Elias Hardman, Charles King and E. Michael acting as pall bearers.
