Former Letts Resident Dead

Ira Hendrix, a former well known resident of Letts, died at his home in Los Angeles, Cal., Monday, according to word received in Letts Tuesday. Deceased was 73 years of age. The aged man succumbed to an operation performed at a Los Angeles hospital last week. He had been in failing health since the death of his wife which occurred Oct. 1, 1914.

Mr. Hendrix was a veteran of the Civil war, having served as a member of the Eighth Iowa Infantry. He is survived by three sons, Wiliam Hendrix, of Seattle, Wash.; Roy Hendrix of Los Angeles, Cal., and Ferdinand Hendrix of Avalon, Mo.

The body will be taken to Letts Saturday, where it will be buried beside the grave of Mrs. Hendrix, who was buried in the Letts cemetery after her death in Los Angeles.
