Denise Johnson, age 52, of West Burlington, Iowa, died Monday morning, January 16,2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics at Iowa City, Iowa. The daughter of ‘Bill’ and Pauline Naylor Lofgren, she was born October 22, 1953 at Burlington. She married Eddie Johnson on June 21, 1975 at Wapello, Iowa.

She graduated from Wapello High School in 1971 and received he AA degree from Southeastern Community College. Denise was a secretary at Corse Elementary School at Burlington. She is a member of the Harmony Bible Church at Danville. Denise enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, playing Bunco, and decorating at home. She loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie; two daughters, Shannon and Wade Mercer and Megan and Christopher Hulett both of Burlington; a son, Chase Johnson of West Burlington; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral ceremony for Denise Johnson was held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 20, 2006, at Harmony Bible Church at Danville, with Rev. Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial was at the Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun. A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the American Cancer Society. The Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello provided the care and arrangements for Denise Johnson.
