Robert Earl Buckman, 71, of Conesville, died Thursday, October 25, 1990, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Jensen officiating. Mrs. Marsha Gerot was organist and Sara McCleary the vocalist.

Casket bearers were grandsons Duane Milder, Jeff Milder, Edward Wheeler, Jon Buckman, Darrin Johnson and Bryan Smith. Flower attendatnts were Denise Smith, Misty Buckman, and Donda Johnson. Burial was in the Conesville Cemetery with graveside military rites by the Allen Wright Hanft Post #100 of the American Legion.

Mr. Buckman was born December 22, 1918, at Wilton, the son of Fred and Mary Ethel Christison Buckman. He married Wanda Maxine McKean on January 20, 1941, at Muscatine.

He was a veteran of the Army in World War II, had worked as a gas station attendant and at Grain Processing in Muscatine. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Conesville; the Riverside VFW, and a life member of the Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid Cub fan.

He is survived by two sons, Fred Buckman of Columbus Junction, Dennis Buckman of Conesville; two daughters, Mrs. Dean (Anita) Milder and Mrs. Ray (Chris) Johnson, both of Conesville; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; and three brothers, Clarence of Kanoga, California; Harold of Buffalo, Missouri; and Ernest of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his wife on May 28, 1978; his parents and two children.
