Marjorie Lenz, 76, of Lone Tree, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. A funeral service was held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 2, 2007, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Rev. Jason Pittman of the United Presbyterian Church officiated the services. Burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Casketbearers were Chad Lenz, Matt Lenz, Jesse Lenz, Dustin Lenz, Travis Lenz and Daniel Husmann. Honorary Casketbearers were Terra Sue VanDusen, Kara Lenz, Tabitha Lenz, Laura Husmann, Hannah Husmann and Leanna Husmann. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Camp Courageous in memory of Marjorie. Sympathy notes may be left for the Lenz family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Amanda Marjorie Keeler was born on June 30, 1930 in Conesville, Iowa the daughter of John and Inez (Lauderdale) Keeler. On January 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Lenz in Lone Tree, Iowa. Marjorie was a life long resident of Nichols area, moving to Lone Tree in 2004. She farmed all her life. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, baking and most of all, spending time with her family.

Marjorie is survived by her two sons, Gary K. Lenz and his wife, Sue, of Nichols and Larry L. Lenz and his wife, Karen, of Nichols; one daughter, Laurie A. Lenz of Lone Tree; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Keeler and his wife, Jan, of Muscatine; two sisters, Myrle R. Abney of Muscatine and Grace Tomasson of Muscatine and one brother-in-law, Leroy Forbes of Conesville.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Orval Van Horn, her husband, Kenneth, in 2000, two daughters, Pam and Deanna; one sister, Virginia Forbes and three brothers-in-law, Bobby Shaner, Walter Tomasson and Delbert Abney.
