COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa — Harold Robert Drinkall, 84, of Columbus Junction, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Casketbearers will be John Chapin, Geoff Chapin, Adam Chapin, Dick Grimm, Mark Huston and Terry Drinkall. Burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. December 23, 2008, at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in memory of Harold.

Harold was born on July 11, 1924, in Columbus Junction, the son of Herman and Beulah Owens Drinkall. He married Dorothy McCullough on July 7, 1949, in Conesville.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Columbus Junction. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and caring for the family apple orchard. He owned Midway Auto in Columbus Junction for more than 50 years.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Dorothy Drinkall of Columbus Junction; his daughters, Elizabeth Chapin and husband, John, of Muscatine and Karen Drinkall of Columbus Junction; two grandchildren, Geoff Chapin of Coralville and Adam Chapin and wife, Jennifer, of Muscatine; a brother, Dale Drinkall and wife, Virginia, of Muscatine; two sisters, Lorene Richardson of Chandler, Arizona, and Isabelle Johnson and husband, Howard, of Fort Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elma Lenz and a brother, Ralph Drinkall.
