WINFIELD, Iowa — E. Lucille Jamison, 84, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.

Ms. Jamison was born July 27, 1924, the daughter of Frank L. and Jospehine (Metts) Jamison in Wyman. She was a graduate of the Columbus Junction High School, class of 1941.

She was employed by the State of Iowa as a social worker in Davenport. From 1964 until retirement in 1972 she worked for the Department of Security in Phoenix and Glendale, Ariz. In March 2000 she returned to Iowa and lived in Washington until March 2006.

She enjoyed reading, painting and traveling, having enjoyed Great Britain, Mexico, Europe and most of the United States.

She is survived by two nephews, Frank Jamison and wife Sandy, of Columbus Junction and James B. Jamison and wife, Judy of Bettendorf; a niece, Judy Jamison Swenson and husband, Lee of Newton; six great-nieces and nephews; three cousins, Jeanette Thompson and George Jamison of Phoenix, Ariz. and Helen Arthur of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Lorence Jamison and an infant brother and sister.

A memorial has been established for the Salvation Army.

Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is in charge of the arrangements.
