Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, Elliot Chapel, New London. Visitation: noon-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m.

NEW LONDON, Iowa — Corinne Eleanor Fullerton, 87, of New London, formerly of Columbus Junction, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at the New London Nursing and Rehab.

Dan Dingus will officiate. Internment will be in the Columbus City Cemetery.

Following the internment, the Shellbark Club will host a gathering of family and friends at the Masonic Lodge in Columbus City.

Memorials may be left to On the Right Track, a fundraiser for an all-weather track for New London Community Schools.

Ms. Fullerton was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Columbus Junction, the daughter of Richard Peters and Julia Baker Peters.

She married LaVon “Sam” Fullerton Oct. 4, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. They later divorced.

She attended grade school in the Shellbark School District and was a 1937 graduate of Columbus Junction High School.

She was a farm wife in early years then a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in New London. She was the first carrier in Iowa.

She was a member of the New London Presbyterian Church, the Shellbark Neighborhood Club and a No. 1 Wrestling Booster fan,

She was also very involved with her grandchildren’s school activities, enjoyed hearing her family sing and known as Grandma Corinne to everyone.

She is survived by two sons, E. Richard “Dick” Fullerton and his wife, Anna, of New London and Tom Fullerton and his wife, Diane, of Westminster, Colo.; a daughter, Julia Kelly of New London; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roger Peters; and a son-in-law, Mike Kelly.
