Homer E. Boyer Called By Death

Homer Ellsworth Boyer, 73, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died at his home Thursday afternoon, November, 10, 1977. He was born August 12, 1904, in Green Valley, Illinois, the son of William and Ada Mae Woodruff Boyer.

He married Arietta Hoskins on February 22, 1929. Mr. Boyer farmed in the Carthage area until her death January 7, 1959. He was a member of the Adrian Christian Church. He later moved to the Columbus Junction, Iowa, area where he was employed by the Dillon Stone Co. His marriage to Johanna Schultheiss took place December 31, 1960, in Macomb, Illinois. For a number of years he and his wife have operated the Dairy Sweet Drive In at Columbus Junction.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 12, 1977, at 10:30 a.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Denley Ganfield officiating. Graveside service and burial were in the Moss Ridge Cemetery at Carthage, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife; three brothers, Howard Boyer, Adrian, Illinois, Harley Boyer, Carthage, Illinois, and Wilbert Boyer, Long Beach, California; and two sisters, Nellie Seigfreid and Hattie Chilson of Adrian, Illinois; as well as nieces and nephews.

Organist was Donna Belle Hughes.

Casket bearers were: Richard Schlabaugh, Dean Solomon, John Carpenter, John Warren, Walter DeVore and M.E. Fisher.
