Edward Howell Davis Died Suddenly December 29th

Edward Howell Davis, 70, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack Thursday, December 29, 1966, at his home two miles northeast of Crawfordsville.

Mr. Davis was born May 16, 1896 in Louisa County, a son of Evan Robert and Claudia (Evans) Davis. He was reared in the Crawfordsville community and married at Cotter December 30, 1920 to Mary Hazel Owens.

He was a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder; the American Legion; a veteran of World War I; and a farmer.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Wayne of Crawfordsville; one daughter Mrs. Jack (Ruth) Erwin of Crawfordsville; five grandchildren; two brothers; Alfred of Crawfordsville and Emrys of Burlington; and one sister, Mrs. Robert (Mazie) Howell of Crawfordsville.

Funeral services were held January 1, 1967 at 2:30 p.m. at the Salem Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Hensman Smidt officiating.

Casket bearers were Floyd Parson, Earl Walker, John Hamil, Sam Erwin, Silas Finke Jr., Virgil Fletcher.

Mrs. Harold Rees was pianist.

Interment in the Cambrian cemetery.
