Mrs. Anna Davis Funeral Services

Mrs. Anna Davis, a long time resident of the Cotter community passed away at 10:00 o’clock p.m. Wednesday November 14, 1962 at her home after an extended illness.

Anna Griffiths Davis was born December 23, 1879 in Llwyngwril North Wales and was the daughter of Griffith and Jane Owens Griffiths.

She was aged 82 years, 10 months, and 21 days on the day of her death. She was married to John Morris Davis, October 30, 1909 in Chicago, Illinois and they lived their entire married life in their home on the place known as the London Farm near Cotter.

Mr. Davis preceded her in death September 23, 1954.

Mrs. Davis was a faithful member of the Cotter Presbyterian church for more than 50 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Plett of Muscatine, two sons Hayden of Cotter, Burdette of Ainsworth and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Cotter Presbyterian Church at 3:30 Saturday afternoon, November 17 and were conducted by Rev. James Rila with Mrs. John Morris as organist and Mrs. Kenneth Carrell soloist sang two of Mrs. Davis’ favorite hymns “Face to Face” and “One Sweetly Solemn Thought”.

Casket bearers were John G. Jones, Edward Thomas, Leroy Owens, Clarence Hawkins, Russell Owens and Evan Edwards with Mrs. Gerald Brenneman, Mrs. Blair Duncan and Mrs. Darold Jones as flower attendants.

Services were attended by man relatives and friends.

Interment in Cambrian Cemetery.
