Mrs. Clement “Jake” Davies Died At Wilton Dec. 22

Mrs. Clement “Jake” Davies of Wilton died at 6:40 p.m. December 22, 1975 at the Muscatine General Hospital after an extended illness, at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 25 days.

Nora Louise Redman was born in Muscatine, July 27, 1915, to Clarence and Wilma Holcomb Redman. She married Clement “Jake” Davies on July 28, 1936, in Dixon, Illinois. She had resided in Wilton for 37 years.

Mrs. Davies was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wilton and was active with her husband in the ownership and operation of Jake’s Super Market at Wilton.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Kenneth “Jerry” and W. David both of Wilton; a daughter Mrs. Robert (Judy) Herr of Davenport; 8 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. William (Frances) LaMond of Morgansfield, Kentucky, Mrs. Ruth Nash of Marshalltown and Mrs. Edwin (Dorothy) Gerdts of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; and one uncle, Hugh Holcomb of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm. Friday at the Wilton United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Willey officiating. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery.
