Wapello Republican, Novembe 18, 1993

Hazel Boulton, age 85, of Wapello, Iowa, died Monday afternoon, November 15, 1993 at the Washington County Hospital, Washington, Iowa. She was born July 19, 1908, at rural Columbus City, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Annie Watt McIntyre. She had attended the Victory School at Fairview. She married Floyd M. Boulton, January 18, 1927 at Wapello. He died September 29, 1988. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening.

Her memberships included the United Methodist Church and its Rebecca Circle of Wapello, the Derexa Rebekah Lodge #129 of the I.O.O.F., and the Order of Eastern Star #257, both of Wapello.

Survivors include two daughters, Geraldine Tollefson of Tachoma, Washington and Mary Tompkins of Montezuma; four sons, Burdette Boulton of Muscatine, Kenneth Boulton of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ray Bolton of rural Wapello, and Don Boulton of Wapello; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Faye Cassabaum and Gertie Cassabaum, both of Medapolis; and two brothers, Raymond "Bud" McIntyre and Leland McIntyre, both of Wapello. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren, and a sister, Bessie.

The funeral service for Hazel Boulton will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, November 19, 1993 at the United Methodist Church at Wapello with Rev. Ed Philgreen officating and Randy Boulton giving a eulogy. Bev Parsons will be the organist and Kristie Cummings will be the vocalist singing, "Amazing Grace: and "How Great Thou Art." The casket bearers will include Roger Cutkomp, Ronald Cutkomp, Ree McIntyre, Dwight McIntyre, Robbie Boulton and Tom Pogemiller. Burial will follow at the Columbus City Cemetery. A Rebekah Lodge service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with the family meeting friends until 8:30 at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home. A Memorial Fund has been established.
