Betty Dann

Betty A. “B.A.” Dann, 62, died October 3, 2005 at Taylor House Hospice from complications of Gliobastoma, a malignant brain tumor. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 7, 2005 at Merle Hay Funeral Home, burial was at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.

She was born on January 6, 1943 in Columbus Junction, Iowa. She graduated from Columbus High School, and received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education from the University of Northern Iowa. She was a homemaker; she was also a supplier for dollhouse miniatures. She was a member of NAME (the National Association of Miniatures Enthusiasts), N.E.A. and WEST. She had received an Ambassador’s Award from NAME for outstanding service 2004-2005.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen E. Dann; sons, Phillip E. (Karen) Dann and Roger O. (Tammy) Dann; sister, Elaine Hostetler; stepmother, Frances Burns; and one grandson, Zachary C. Dann.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Opal Burns. Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House Hospice at 3401 East Douglas, Des Moines, 50317 or NAME, P.O. Box 69, Carmel Indiana 46082.
