CHILD DIES OF PNEUMONIA AT ORPHANS' HOME

4 Year-Old Clitha Courtney Dies of Measle's After Effect.

Four year old Clitha Dernana Courtney, a little resident of the Iowa Soldier's Home in Davenport, died at 7 o'clock this morning. She had been sick for some time with measles and pneumonia set in, causing her death.

The child came to the Orphans' Home with her three little sisters last October, from Wapello, Iowa, when her mother was taken to the State Sanatorium for Tuberculosis at Oakdale. One little sster, Violet,7 years of age has also been suffering from a severe case of pneumonia, but she is improving now.

Deceased was born Oct. 6, 1919 in Wapello, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Courtney. Surviving are the mother at Oakdale, the father, at Wapello,and three sisters, Violet 7, Ruby 11, and Edith, 6, at the home and two other children.

The remains were taken to the M.V. Boles Parlors and funeral arrangements will be made later.
