Mrs. Jessie Bliven Called By Death At Muscatine

Mrs. Jessie Bliven of Muscatine died at 5:00 p.m. January 10, 1973 at Valley view Manor following an extended illness at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 10 days.

Jessie Ellis was born June 30, 1899 at Hartsburg, Illinois, the daughter of John W. and Nellie May Mitchell Ellis. She married John Albert Bliven December 13, 1916, at Columbus Junction and were former residents here. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of Columbus Junction. Mrs. Bliven had lived in Muscatine for the past 32 years.

She is survived by a son, Donald D. Bliven of Muscatine; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Porter of Nichols; two brothers, P.D. Ellis of Durant and John Ellis, Jr., of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, who died September 8, 1960.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home in Muscatine with Rev. William Keller officiating. Mrs. Floyd Scott was organist. Casket bearers were Kerry Baxter, Leo Wagner, Justin D Schlichting, Keith Carey, Thomas Carey and Rex Carey. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Muscatine.
