Lee A. "Red" Bliven passed away Sunday, June 11, 1995, at the Twin Falls Clinic Hospital, Twin Falls, Idaho, following a long, tough fought battle wth cancer.

Lee was born at Columbus Junction, Iowa, September 15, 1921. He was the third son of Wm. Blaine and Bertha Mae Lord Bliven.

From 1923 to 1939 he lived in Fredonia, Iowa, with his family. After graduating from Columbus High in 1938, he moved to Kansas City, then Los Angeles, California, working for North American Aviation from 1940 to 1944 when he joined the army until the war ended in 1945.

On February 25, 1945, Lee married Ann Hardacre. They have 3 children.

In May, 1986, after retiring from the U.S. Forest Service, he and Ann moved to Buhl, Idaho.

Lee was a "doer" from having his first business in Compton, to being te first person to put air-conditioning in a tractor in the Imperial Valley, California in the 1950's. Among his many accomplishemts were starting a Forest Service Union in Grass Valley, California, and teaching at the Job Corps at Timberlake, Oregon. He was fleet manager at Grant's Pass, Oregon.

After retiring out of the Forest Service at Lakeview, Oregon, Lee retired into a job working for his son-in-law, Wayne, and being "Pappy" to the crews he worked with. He took very great pride in the building he helped do in the Twin Falls area. He leaves a legacy to the Bliven family, a book he researched and wrote, The Bliven Family History.

Lee is survived by his wife, Ann Bliven, of Buhl, Idaho, his daughters, Donna Lee (Wayne) Bohrn, Twin Falls, Linda (Dan) Beadle, Chico, California, and his son, Lee A. (Susan)Bliven II, Eugene,Oregon, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by brothers, Cecil and Max Bliven, their spouses and his sisster, Marguerite Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Maxine.

Lee's wishes for cremation will be taken care of by Blay's in Twin Falls and a Masonic memorial service on Saturday, June 17, 1995. His family asked that any memorials should be made to any educational program of the giver's choice.
