Richard A. Blake Called By Death

GRANDVIEW - Richard Albert Blake of Grandview, died at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 1978, at the Muscatine General Hospital, at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 13 days.

Mr. Blake is the son of Owen and Jennie Mallott Blake. He was born November 12, 1893, in Marietta, Ohio. A long time resident of Grandview, he married Cleda McGill in Muscatine on October 24, 1934. He was a retired wood worker and been previously employed at the Roach and Musser Manufacturing in Muscatine.

Survivors include his wife, Cleda; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Twyla) Hamilton of Letts; a step-son, Robert McGill of Key West, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Ada Werner of Buena Vista, California.

Mr. Blake was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction. Rev. E.C. Wolfe, pastor of the Grandview Community Bible Church officiated. Donna Belle Hughes was organist. Pallbearers were Argene Bonnichsen, Paul Stineman, Dale Chatterton, Jess Bass, Carl Anthony and Harold Williams. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery.
