Lucy Danekas

Wapello- Lucy Rosetta Danekas, 90, of Wapello, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 1991 at the Morning Sun Care Center.

The former Lucy Fetters was born May 4, 1901 at Grandview, a daughter of Samuel and Minnie Kallenberger Fetters. She married Louis Hutchinson in 1920. He died Dec. 25, 1940. On Oct. 9, 1947 she married Robert Murray. He died Robert Murray. He died April 10, 1965. Her marriage to Walter Danekas took place Feb. 13, 1972 and he died in May of 1979.

She had lived in the Toolsboro, Morning Sun, Wapello areas and at Mononk, Ill. , before returning to Wapello in 1979.

At one time she worked as a cook in the Wapello Community Schools.

Survivors include tow daughters, Flossie Murray of Wapello and Della Ewing of Moline, Ill.; four stepdaughters, Arlene McDonald of Morning Sun, and Emilie Zivney, Clara Fewel, and “Babe” McRell, all of Minonk, Ill.; two stepsons, Richard Murray and Clifford Murray, both of Wapello; 13 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 21 step-great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, three step-great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Lemma Leonard of Clinton, and Maye Dahl of West Carrollton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands; a brother, Robert Fetters; a son, Junior; and a grandson, James Murray.

The funeral services for Lucy Danekas was held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 1991 at the Grandview Community Bible Church with the Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Ruth Newman provided the organ music. The casket bearers were the grandsons, Richard Murray, Thomas Murray, Jay Ewing, Lance Ewing, David Ewing, Dana Ewing, Chris Ewing and Mark Ewing. The burial followed at the Parsons Cemetery, rural Wapello.

A memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Grandview Community Bible Church.
Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello provided the care and arrangements for Lucy Danekas.
