Mrs. L. M. Dallmeyer Called by Death

Gertrude McDaniel Dallmeyer, the foster daughter of Sylvester and Emily J. McDowell was born in Winona, Minnesota, December 8, 1886 and passed away at Muscatine General Hospital Friday morning, October 5, 1962 at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 27 days.

She was taken into the fine Christian home of Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel when was less than two years of age and was loved and cared for and sent through school. She graduated from the Columbus Junction High School with the class of 1905. After teaching school for two years she was united in marriage to Lewis M. Dallmeyer June 12, 1907. They have lived on a farm east of Columbus Junction all their married life. She was a member of the Pleasant Gove Bethel church where she worshipped and to which she gave long and faithful service as health permitted.

To Mr. and Mrs. Dallmeyer nine children were born, four of whom passed away in infancy and childhood.

She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Lok Tremont, Wauconda, Ill; Kenneth Dallmeyer, Antigo, Wisconsin; Mrs. Leon Thompson, Grandview; Lewis Dallmeyer, Columbus Junction and Carl Dallmeyer of Washington, Iowa and by two step children: Harlan Dallmeyer, Columbus Junction and Mrs. Vernon Lowe, Muscatine. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and by one half sister, Mrs. Effie Tisor, Muscatine.

Services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Pleasant Grove Bethel church and were conducted by Rev. Donald Sarver. Music was by Mrs. Harry Gipple and Mrs. George Crist.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Fay Foster, Mrs. Lewis Newell, Mrs. Earl Bennett and Mrs. Harold Shellabarger.

Casket bearers were Herbert Newell, Virgil Bonnichsen, Harold Shellabarger, Stanley Carey, Lewis Newell and Ralph Lierberknecht.

Burial in Indian Creek cemetery under the direction of the Stacy Funeral Home.
