Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 25, Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Columbus Junction.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, funeral home.

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - Gladys Billingsly, 73, Columbus Junction, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

The Rev. Linda Baldwin will officiate the services, assisted by Mike Jay. Casket bearers are Jason Osburn, Justin Scheef, Zack Pugh, Seth Pugh, Derick Ball and Brandon Ball.
Honorary casket bearers are Tessa Pugh, Nikki Salek and Mandy Osburn. Burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Columbus Junction American Legion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Gladys Billingsly Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be left for the Billingsly family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com

Mrs. Billingsly was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Gamaliel, Ark., the daughter of Robert and Nancy Gillette Hathcock. She married Luther I. Billingsly on Aug. 5, 1948 in Arkansas.

She was a member of Columbus Junction Presbyterian Church.

She was a substitute cook at Roundy Elementary and she was a dedicated Columbus Wildcats and Chicago Cubs fan. She and her husband owned and operated Kingsbury Inn of Fredonia for nearly 20 years. They also were dairy farmers for many years.

She enjoyed her family, her dogs, sporting events, quilting and crocheting, playing games and cards. She had two Pomeranians, Taz and Tiz. Two of her dogs, Tootles and Tootsie, are deceased.

Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda Osburn of Ozark, Mo., Freda Sojka and husband Jim, Diana Billingsly and Denise Ball and husband Rick, all of Columbus Junction; grandchildren, Jason Osburn, and wife Sara, Mandy Osborn, Nikki Salek and husband Lee, Justin Scheef and wife Shannon, Greg Sojka, Stacie Sojka, Tessa Pugh, Zack Pugh, Seth Pugh, Derick Ball and Brandon Ball; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Cody, Maddie, Austin, Ethan, Emilee and Obree; and four sisters, Valeta Crawford of Gainsville, Mo., Verlene Reid of DeWitt, Norma Jean Brown of Richmond, Mo. and Betty Jo Ketlesen of Clinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.
