MUSCATINE, Iowa - Charley A. Bierman, 90, 2389 Bayfield Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at his home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Arturo Carranza will officiate. Pallbearers are his grandchildren, Barbara Swailes and husband Larry, Mark Carter, Bob Coyner, Melissa Bierman and Kristy Bierman. Burila will be at Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church.

Mr. Bierman was born Sept. 29, 1911, in Muscatine, the son of George and Martha Welk Bierman. He married Eunice Hoag Feb. 23, 1941, in Muscatine.

He farmed all his life.

He was a member of the Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth C. Bierman and wife Tammy of Muscatine; three daughters, Janice Dougherty and husband Donald of St. Charles, Helen Coyner and husband Kenton of Muscatine and Gladys Murphy and husband Patrick of Wapello; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Viola Garnes of Davenport, Velma Shafer and Dorothy Gilleland, both of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gerald Bierman; and two brothers, Raymond and Ralph Bierman.
